In 2009, owner, Eugene Calloway Jr. purchased what he thought was just another residential real estate investment. Many years later, he would find that this property and its connection to the Little Calumet River would have a rich history. He recognized the opportunity to learn and share the value of his establishment and its surrounding area.
Freedom Seekers Boat Tours is an organization that offers pontoon and kayak tours/rentals along the Little Calumet River. We ensure that the Forest Preserves are accessible to all while also promoting Chicago's historical significance to the Underground Railroad.
